Nuclear Weapon Abolition

We really did practice getting under our school desks, then marched to the basement, our official Fallout Shelter designation. This was irresponsible, and deceitful. In June 1970 on Wall Street surrounded by thousands of descending construction workers, encouraged by Pres. Nixon, I would get beat up at a rally saying No to our profiteers of war. There were old timers there who educated me of the "military industrial congressional complex" and our nuclear stockpile.

After Vietnam ended in 1975, I would join in the numerous marches in NYC against nuclear weapons. Some of our local Reps, mine the beloved and dedicated U.S. Congressman Ted Weiss who I got to know well, were very vocal about stopping these insane devices. Our NYC Council was standing up with us. The No Nukes movement connected nuclear power plants poisoning our habitat, singing in 1979 "Just give me the warm Power of the sun....". There was a steady lead up to we citizens flooding our streets in June 1982, with over a million saying No to the arms race, and calling Representatives to listen to the multiple citizen bridges long being built around the world for our common, true needs and security. Interviews for World Peace? would be completed before mid 1983, focussed on disarmament, and international cooperation.

For over a week in September 2016 I lobbied our Reps. in Congress and Senate most responsible for the industry, giving them the DVD of Good Thinking, questioning them about the amount of cost to tax payers for this industry, and asked if they knew what one of these devices would actually do. They were also informed of and asked if they knew that 155 nations at the time were gathering to discuss the Humanitarian Impact and Consequences of such omnicidal devices. They did not know. Most did not have an answer for any of the above. Onward together.

We've work ahead of us, and our practical Ban Treaty to implement.

April 4th, 2018, on the 50th anniversary of MLK, Jr's assassination, 7 Catholic Workers entered a nuclear weapon submarine base, in non-violent civil disobedience, risking life and/or prison, to help awaken citizens to participation in the criminality. This base alone is capable of obliterating all civilization many times over.

Amalgamated Bank
Before the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons was signed (2017), this bank has been the only bank in the U.S. that maintains actual policies that prohibit any investing in, or transactions with armament companies, from handguns to nuclear weapons. For their focus on investing in Climate and social justice, it's simply a responsibility, and a natural win/win. Leaders Divest!

It was adopted, and without mainstream media support, around the world we've been getting the truth out in all ways possible.
